Kristen Brown only thinks 7 employees are important instead of all City Employees

It doesn't come as a shock that our mayor Kristen Brown wants to increase the pay of her favorite employees who she thinks are the only crucial employees Columbus has. The Republic wrote about the raises yesterday and mentioned the 7 employees (positions) who are in Kristen's eyes the only deserving of the raises.

Kristen believes these positions are critical to the operations of city government. They are six department heads (engineer, planner, police chief, city garage, city attorney, director of operations and finance) and one non-department head (assistant to the mayor).

Why wouldn't she reward her assistant, I mean they take most of the abuse, and do all her work. Or at least copy speeches from one week to the next.

If I recall, Judy Jackson was the mayor (technically the assistant) of Columbus when Fred was in office, but Fred was the front man "Mayor" and behind every powerful man is a woman who runs the show. Thank you Judy for your service.

I think the current assistant is a Man so behind every powerfull woman is an intern learning... lol

The paper reported "City Council preliminarily eliminating bonus pay that Mayor Kristen Brown wanted for certain positions, and approving a higher cost of living adjustment than she wanted."

What the City Council approved was the first reading of an ordinance that included a 3 percent cost of living raise for all city employees.

Kristen isn't happy because instead of BONUS pay to her favorite 7, she wanted a salary ordinance that included a 2.5 percent cost of living raise and $35,000 she could disperse among seven positions to reward their performance.

Her plan as of now has been foiled as of now, but this is Kristen Brown we're talking about - she will scream and holler and jump around until she gets her way.

She has already ran off the new fire chief, who else will get mad and quit.

Not only is she a foul-mouthed bully, she is a liar. Kristen promised a merit system for all employees where raises would be based on evaluations yet in her first year for her first budget, she is out to take care of her cronies. Columbus might have elected her in a landslide but the people elected a council to provide some balance. Ironic that this Mayor and Council of the same party clearly loathe each other. Kristen is actually doing about what I expected but hey Columbus, it's what YOU wanted.

This is a major blunder by Brown. This site has had a lot of silly "complaints" about her but this one is real, despite the poor writing and lack of proof reading, the point made is a good one.
I can't believe she's even attempting to get away with this.
