Sports and Family Day - Sunday Aug 12th

School may be back in session, but that is not the end of summer fun thanks to the Trinbago Association of Columbus’ annual Sports and Family Day celebration being held Sunday, August 12th at Mill Race Park from 2:00 PM until dusk. 

The Sports and Family Day is a tradition from the island nation of Trinbago (officially the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago). This year, as their homeland celebrates the 50th anniversary of national independence, the Trinbago Association has partnered with Eastside Community Center and the Faith, Hope & Love Church of God in Christ to sponsor a special celebration and they are inviting the entire community.

Admission and games are all FREE, thanks in part to a Welcoming Communities grant from the Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County.  BBQ Ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, sides and drinks are being provided free to participants by the congregation at Faith, Hope & Love Church of God in Christ.
