Wish Kristen Brown could do something about the electric (lighting) cost at the library. It turns out the library is, in essence, an Easy Bake Oven where energy-inefficient incandescent ceiling lights serve as its heat source, too. (Yep, it's true.)

Changing out to CFL (or LED) lighting could produce sufficient savings (~$40,000 a year) to buy a furnace - and doing so would reduce the summer heat load those Easy Bake ceiling lights needlessly place on the library's air conditioning. - Thomas Heller
