Jeremy Kirtz Columbuzz Administrator - just who am I?

Columbuzz the foundation of reporting and allowing those to report what they see, feel, understand, think, and not know for sure. Deemed "Gossip" rag.

Yep that sums it up alright and the basis for many things posted anywhere on the internet or thru text message, is thought or opinion. It isn't until we have "facts" or evidence leading us to think otherwise which takes it from opinion to fact.

Bringing to my next point - it has circulated for weeks, months, years even that I, Jeremy, have other names associated with me or about who I am. Here is why they assume I am someone different - I've told everyone my name is Jeremy (which it is) but for all you people out there who like to dig in public records, the reason you can't find me is because I use my middle name as my first as administrator of Columbuzz. My first name - that isn't relevant or anyone's business

(Did people really think I would come to a website and use my whole name?)

Who remembers Columbuzz on Facebook disappearing in the beginning of 2009? I reactivated the account once I had received all usernames and information.

We have people who post on our Facebook page, their thoughts or ideas about me - to be told it isn't true, by me and others, with some saying who cares.

I will say, everyone is welcome to post on our Facebook page, but when you visit just to cause issues with us directly - you will be blocked from participating.

The idea people think I am someone other than who I am has no basis, fact or proof - using the idea someone claims they "know" is one thing, but to actually know is profound. This, in my opinion is nothing more than what people already claim Columbuzz is but "Gossip" "Rumor".

The idea behind "gossip, rumor" is untruth or not knowing all the details so people speculate what is or isn't or did or didn't happen.  Rumors have been going on since the dawn of time and I don't think they will ever stop. People will always think they know what is going on, and tell someone who in-turn tells someone and before anyone knows it, judgment is placed all based on a mythical story deemed as "gossip".

"Gossip is idle talk or rumor about the personal or private affairs of others. It is one of the oldest and most common means of sharing facts, views and slander. This term is used pejoratively by its reputation for the introduction of errors and variations into the information transmitted, and it also describes idle chat, a rumor of personal, or trivial nature." - Wikipedia

A redesign of Columbuzz is slowly happening but for some the idea of not knowing leads them to assume they do know. For example a man who studied Elementary Education and who lives in Bartholomew County, who had been found guilty of OPERATING A VEHICLE WHILE INTOXICATED ENDANGERING A PERSON back in 2010 believes (opinion) what he has been told, to think he knows the truth about me. (I addressed this earlier)

Outside of the fact he "was told" regarding who I am - my point is, no one knows anything about anyone. No physical proof is evident anywhere of who any of the administrators are with the exception of one former administrator Mr. Bob Freeman who didn't hide from his feelings, opinions. Of course speculation on him being Joanna has started - it is never ending for some people.

The need to know something you are unsure of is very contagious - you will seek out, say whatever to convince people you know what you're talking about when really you have no clue. So with that said - I hope this helps those who think they know what Columbuzz is, and who its administrators are - if we wanted to be judged by you - you would know our first names.

LOL.....it's called copping an atitude. NO ONE is capable of accepting something or someone without judgment.

"Rumors have been going on since the dawn of time..."

Not since the dawn of time, but maybe since the early existence of mankind.

I just wonder why Columbuzz has always been so quick and eager to expose or identify people by name, however the Admins and lessee of this site remain 'secret'. Why are they hiding? If it is fear of repercussion, why don't they exercise the same respect when naming others? Seems hypocritical. Freeman built his own tarnished reputation, but at least he didn't hide from it.

Hello Jeremy,

I would like to touch on the "gossip" rag issue. I believe it was you that I had spoken with, via text message, about some positive changes for Columbuzz. I strongly believe that Columbuzz could rival, if not surpass, The Republic in terms of readership if more positive stories hit the headlines at Columbuzz. Columbuzz could thrive on the smaller stories that The Republic deems not important enough or not news worthy.

Stories or articles about:
1. Some of the fine mom and pop establishments in Columbus and/ or surrounding areas. These could include bios, reviews of products offered, etc.

2. Articles featuring local musicians/ bands.

3. Articles featuring local artists such as the guy that is painting the mural at Columbus Bar.

4. Readers could submit their photos of various interests.

5. Short stories...fiction/ non-fiction.

6. Humor, jokes, comics.

and the list goes on......

We have many talented people here in Columbus. The readers of Columbuzz could have a chance to become freelance writers and/or journalists.

There is already enough negative stuff in the real world. Columbuzz could become a positive small town magazine but the "slam" articles would need to stop unless serious investigation has been done. As it stands right now, a person or business is guilty until proven innocent in these "slam" articles and that is not responsible journalism. Journalists should be unbiased and present only facts and allow the reader to form their opinion instead of having an opinion handed to them by the writer.

Conduct a poll. See what the readers want.

I would be willing to help in anyway that I can.

The time for change is now

I think Guy is on to something...I also think that the articles that are posted here now have nothing wrong with them however maybe mixing those with some more upbeat and positive articles would help enhance the site or find some balance..
