Reports of a crash on US 31 in front of Speedway in Taylorsville happened today around 12:30 today.

This intersection has always been a concern because of the none stop traffic and people trying to dart across. We're told air bags were deployed.

That is a horrible intersection. And to think there are developers wanting to build several units behind the Speedway, and Burger King area. There is no way we can safely add any more traffic to an already heavily congested area. That road between Speedway, and Burger King is called Bear lane, and that would be the main entrance/exit for this project. The streets of Taylorsville can't handle the increase in traffic. It's bad enough at the Holiday times, let alone add some more living areas!!
