Neighbors outraged by unregistered Sex Offender living next door blocks from School

A simple sign displaying the words "Child Molester" placed on both sides of a Taylorsville home will hopefully draw attention to a convicted Sex Offender who isn't following the guidelines to register on the sex offender registry. 

Jason Jones said "I am the man that put up the signs. Yes it is 1360 Pearl Street in Taylorsville and I live next door. I want to thank everyone for their support! I have been in this home for 13 years and I bought it from my Grandfather's estate so I have been around this home for over 25 years and I LOVE this neighborhood and the people in it. If this one bad egg believes he can come in ruin it I will do everything I can to make him leave. I live 1 block from the school where my children attend and I will not allow him to make us live in fear. To Vicki Fields he raped his own niece at least twice in the home next to mine the home he has requested the courts to allow him to live in."

Jefferey A Pedigo #338261, is considered a Sexually Violent(1) Predator and was convicted on August 1997 and lives at 1360 Pearl St. Taylorsville Indiana and has since his conviction. The owners listed, Pedigo, Wrenford E & Judith A (per GIS) are allowing this man to reside in their home which is blocks away from Taylorsville Elementary school.

Indiana Law - Violent offenders can't be within 1,000 feet of public parks with playgrounds, pools, rides, and/or natural trails; schools, day care centers, public swimming pools, public beaches, theaters or any other place where children can reasonably be expected to congregate.

He is also reported to have been staying at 4232 31st St is also one of his flop houses..... Also within 1000 feet of a licensed day care!!!

Jefferey is also on Social Security Disability and received $19,000.00 in back pay from Social Security.

Jefferey has an open case, since December 2010, in BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT Case #03C01-1102-FD-00958 for "5-2-12-9 FAILURE TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER" which carries a class D Felony. Jefferey pleaded guilty to Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender, a Class D Felony December 2011.

Sentencing is set for May 1st 2012, but on April 11th, a motion to Remain at Residence was filed by Sean Thomasson, Jefferey's Attorney, the State of Indiana can object to the motion by April 26 which would probably reject the motion and Jefferey would have to move.

(1) The term sex or violent offender includes a child who has committed a delinquent act and who:

1. is at least fourteen (14) years of age;
2. is on probation, is on parole, is discharged from a facility by the department of correction, is discharged from a secure private facility (as defined in IC 31-9-2-115), or is discharged from a juvenile detention facility as a result of an adjudication as a delinquent child for an act that would be an offense described in “Adults or Juveniles Convicted as Adults” if committed by an adult; and
3. is found by a court by clear and convincing evidence to be likely to repeat an act that would be an offense described in “Adults or Juveniles Convicted as Adults”.
