Students sitting in dark classrooms while on Code Blue at North & East

School officials locked down Columbus North and Columbus East moments ago, while a search for a student who attends both North and East for class is done. 

It is reported the student has a gun and is now in Police custody. releasing the lock down status to green.

(From the republic - 11am Police are investigating reports that a 19-year-old Columbus East High School student showed other students a handgun at a C4 welding class at Columbus North High School.)

It's reported the student threatened another student with a gun at East and then jumped in his car and headed towards Columbus North.  CENSORED - SOPA!

Boy attends East and rides the bus too North for classes, it's reported the boy had a gun on the bus and the driver reported it and police were waiting for him.

While the students are on lock down they are to remain in class, and no one can enter or leave the building.

Parents have been emailing us and are concerned the surrounding elementary and middle schools aren’t on lock down. 

One parent emailed and said they were told by school officials it was only related to Columbus East and North. All schools are aware of the situation and are keeping in touch.
