AUDIO - Joe Willy's Burger & Bar calls law on terminated employee, employee claims discrimination

We received word that Joe Willy's Burger and Bar terminated 5 black employees yesterday. We thought surely in this day and age that didn't happen, so we decided to call - not knowing what to expect, whether they would speak to us or not.

I spoke to the manager and explained what was written on Facebook about Thursday's incident. Their response was that absolutly didn't happen. 

"We are a new store and tend to lose 20-30% of employees during the first week of opening." The employee in question did have the law called on him, but only because he was terminated for "kicking a handicap door".

"The employee was a great worker, and yes was black, but that had nothing to do with it." - said the manager

PUBLIC SERVICE ANOUNCEMENT
Joe Willys Restaurant that just opened on Washington st downtown of Columbus Indiana JUST FIRED ALL of their African- American staff yesterday in under five minutes, servers, dishwashers, cooks ,and bussers I WILL be taking turning them in For Discrimination they even called the cops on those who questioned including me now im not saying its "Because we were black" im going to let you be the judge of that but if you are of African American decent I STRONGLY encourage you to boycott that place of business until this issue is handled thank you

Brian Harris - im not making any further comments until i build a stronger case...

Brian Harris - we dont need to get irate no need for that we are going to this the way they do it now... and thats simply the legal way

Brian Harris - they had no reason to do this even the policemen (who were Caucasian) said that i had a case
   
Brian Harris - it just sucks because they didnt even give us a reason before they threatened to call the cops

We spoke to Brian after talking with the manager of Joe Willy's and asked about him kicking in the door, he replied "hell yeah I kicked a door after they fired all of black staff" we spoke with Brian a bit more and asked about the 4 other employees he said were fired with him, he gave us 4 names and we contact one but haven't heard a reply. Three others, he was unsure of their last names. 

We have 2 sides of a story, his account, and the managers account now we need the 4 others (mentioned in Brian's comment) to come forward. You can message us on Facebook, Email, or Txt Message. 

I haven't eaten at Joe Willy's yet but have read 2 different reviews... 

1.) "I have to say this about Joe Willys.....good food but horrible service. We waited 35 minutes for a table (which was fine) once we were seated we had to wait another 20 minutes to get our menus and silverware. We finally placed our order and we ordered an appetizer... didnt get it until our food came out like 40 minutes later..needless to say the appetizer was cold..sent it back!!! Not impressed , not sure if we will be going back." - Anita

If Joe Willy's discriminates, then why would they hire African Americans in the first place?
