The Republic does it wrong again - says Kristen Brown

image

"This article is inaccurate. The total property tax levy declines this year. There are funds that are capped by a max levy quotient and while those increased, other property tax funds decreased more than enough to offset the increase. The total budget decreased over $2 million dollars this year." Kristen Brown

The Republic? Wrong? Were they wrong when they DID NOT investigate the Mayor's ties to problems at Oracle?

Kristen Brown - Job Slayer

The Mayor From Oracle included no funds for ambulance service which, if passed, would eliminate 60 - 80 jobs according to CRH estimates. Add to that the estimated 50 - 70 jobs eliminated by her killing the Sports Complex, and you get an impressive number of job losses for which she can take credit.

On the other hand, she HAS created a new job for an in-house City Attorney (oops, my bad, make that TWO attorneys), plus she has proposed a budget increase for next year to hire ANOTHER attorney specifically for the City Council.

Kristen Brown is a liar! SHOCK? NOT! Seven months in office and she is asking that some of her department heads get pay raises above and beyond the 2.5 percent that she has requested for all Columbus employees. She was elected to cut costs and expenses not raise them by spending more money. She's just a money loving politician.

The Republic says Brown proposed that the planning director, engineer, city garage director, police chief, city attorney, operations manager and executive administrative assistant be given combined raises totaling $35,000, or $5,000 a person. That would be in addition to a standard 2.5 percent raise, which would bring the department heads’ total, combined raises to about $46,000. The salaries for all city employees, including department heads’ base salary increases and their additional salary increases, would rise by $500,000 under Brown’s proposed budget.

This is ironic since she vilified the last administration for pushing hard to give meager cost of living increases to city employees who had done without for years without a raise.

1 AND DONE!
