Lucas Bros. - Busier than ever, postpones closing

The very day we ran an article about a CASH MOB on Lucas Bros. and The Republic wrote their article, the community has stepped up and visited Lucas Bros. leaving the business with standing room.

“We opened at 11 a.m. this morning, and from then on it’s been standing-room only,” Perkins said at 2 p.m. Thursday. “The lines have been so long that people have had to leave because they didn’t have enough time.”

The closing has been postponed until the first of September.

“We want to see if this popularity can hold on,” Perkins said. “We’ll make a final decision Sept. 1.”

I had heard they don't have set or posted hours. If this is true, it could play a major factor in their customer basis. I've tried visiting a few times during reasonable hours, and they were closed every time. I'm not sure what hours they run, but being open every day around 3 o'clock could have landed them several sold meals, as well as a new 'word of mouth' advertiser. This is the 2nd intriguing burger joint in town to possibly close for easily corrected problems. I'd be a shame to lose Lucas Brothers.
