U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar made the following statement today following the unanimous approval of Governor Mitch Daniels as the 12th President of Purdue University by the university's board of trustees:

“Mitch Daniels has given extraordinary service to our state as Governor.  I have been grateful to Mitch Daniels for his friendship and the many years we have worked together in the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office and the United States Senate. Governor Daniels will continue his great work on behalf of Hoosiers as President of Purdue University and I am excited to see all that Purdue will achieve under his leadership.”

A governor who had no clue where half a billion dollars went for 4 years, could only be conidered as a wise choice to run a university, in Indiana. Wonder how many students could have attended college, off the interest accrued over 4 years from half a billion dollars? No big deal he's just one of them thar good-ole-boys with lots of friends.
