Police raid garage on Compton Dr - discover meth lab

image

June 18th - It started about 1am Saturday morning when police moved in on a meth lab in a garage on Compton Dr. in Pleasant View Addition just off US 31.  The home at 4674 W Compton Dr., belongs to Wanda and Roger J Lucas per GIS records, and it's believe police had been watching the home's suspicious activity for weeks.

Police were tipped off something was going on at the home, large amounts of traffic in and out of the home, and fear played a role.

Sources say Wanda had been working 12-14 hours a day and was unaware of the traffic coming in and out of her home until a friend told her; that's when she told police she thought something was going on.

Sources said Wanda feared her husband would make the wrong people mad placing her or her son in danger. Police may have alerted her when they were coming - so she could made arrangements to be a safe location.

Police discovered in the back yard, a fire-pit had partially burned boxes of medicine packing which contained pseudoephedrine and other items associated with the manufacturing of Methamphetamine.

After weeks of watching and investigating police busted into the locked garage finding the lab, Haz-Mat arrived on scene to clean.

It is reported, the homes owner, Roger is unable to be located. Roger is a handyman doing odd jobs and police had visited the home before for domestic disturbance.

In April of this year Roger was convicted of Driving without Proof of Insurance and False or Fictitious Registration. He currently has several pending charges which range from Theft, and receiving stolen property.

On Novemeber 10, 2011, Roger J. Lucas, 45, Edinburgh, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, 2:14 a.m., by Columbus Police Department, held in lieu of $15,000 bond.

This is such a quiet neighborhood. It's scary thinking you might have a neighbor who would be doing this. Isn't that stuff explosive?? The house in the pic looks great, it's 10 years old. The owners have trashed it, having all kinds of junk in the side and back yard; this house looks so different now.
We actually live one street south of this street, but we have a privacy fence, and I didn't learn of this until now. I have seen that outdoor fireplace, and it was nice at one time, when the previous owners lived there. Drugs only bring violence to such a nice neighborhood.
