Beware of Facebook Columbus Indiana Garage Sale Stuff!!

Did you know - FYI we are only allowed to post 5 items/ or bump 5 items per hour it is in the rules and docs that are to be read when we join this group before posting/selling/buying. It can get you banned from the group. Happy selling.

There is a facebook group that is used to sell items - http://www.facebook.com/groups/ColumbusInGarageSaleStuff/

The group, (9,116 members), was founded by Lisa Sullivan Cigss Founder and has grown very quickly. Due to the rapid growth they have started treating people who use the page to sell items very poorly and make it difficult for buyers to complete the purchases. People are being deleted and blocked with no warning or reason. Lisa is telling people that people aren’t blocked when the link says different, if it was a glitch it wouldn’t say blocked at the end of it -

When you sell an item if you post that it is sold it bumps the item up but if you don’t post it is sold people will keep commenting on it so it gets bumped up anyway. A member of the group was questioning why they couldn’t get a hold of a member to buy items that were posted for sale and this is the response from Lisa -

I run several groups myself and am a member of several other groups and when facebook is glitching it normally will make post or comments not appear it does not make a member not be able to get on to the site and say they are blocked. 

I was not involved in this incident just witnessed it and thought it was wrong since they are not the only group to buy and sale at and with the current conduct the future of the site doesn’t look very promising. The group has become controlling and very unprofessional.

The administrators could at least be honest when they block someone who has many items sold and then can’t contact buyers instead of lying and saying it is facebook. People should beware since if you list numerous items and they are sold but you haven’t gotten information to complete the transaction you may have to start all over on a new page to sell your items.

I hope they work to improve the page so people can buy and sell without the Founder interfering to show her power over the group.

Reading through some of the "rules" and updates - Lisa seems to think she is doing everyone a favor by "donating" her time. I've not participated in the sale of anything but it seems one sure does have a big head.

LOL got booted from Columbus Indiana Garage Sale stuff. Some lady told me to text her over a refrigerator I had for sale on the site. I did so she said will you hold till my Babys Daddy gets paid on Thursday I said First come first serve she said will you take any less I said NO Hence the word FIRM. She starts getting shitty, Saying OKAY DICK I said sorry, she said I dont want it anyway DUMB ASS, I LOL and said you couldn't afford it anyway with your broke ass at least not till your babies daddy got paid Thursday...LOL. She went off even more, I told her to stop texting me please... Finally I had to threatened to call the police if she didnt stop texting me and so she stopped. I then Blocked her on Facebook, Later on in the evening I realize I got booted from the site. I emailed the woman who runs The Columbus Garage Sell Site and told her what had happened and I have copies of my text messages for her to review, and the Site Still has me blocked...LOL. It has to be because I am a man. Because we all know the man is the one that is in the wrong. Unbelievable.

Angie - Lisa from the garage sale site only uses that site to make herself feel better, she's a worthless piece of columbus' finest. 40 year old housewife with no future.

Kayla'don - ha the admins on the baby garage sale site went off on me because i had a busy schedule & wasnt on facebook 24/7 checking my messages & not meetin with people so i went off & got removed & blocked from the siteee ohh well. some are veryyyy bitchy but its a good way to make easy money.. (:

Mark - she's pathetic, like managing a group on facebook makes her important

Kristi - Im on the site everyday, and i have never had a problem with her managment of the site. She seems nice and pofessional. I dont know her personally and have never met the Lady, but seems like an alright gal.

Sarah - That is bullcrap....I was commenting on a womans post making plans to meet her and yes we shoould have private messaged each other but we HAD not put personal addresses or numbers up there...just public place to meet and the lady in charge was like you need to private message about meeting. Then I see people putting phone numbers for everyone to see and mtg times and places and such....and nuthing is said to them...WTF??

Delania - lets get Lisa Sullivan removed. she was really nasty to me but i wasnt nice to her either, shes on a power trip over a garage sale site unbeilevable she acts like its her career so lets get her banned and removed.

Tiffani - i agree she is on a power trip... same thing with one of the north vernon yard sale pages! The thing i dont get is they dont want you putting the meeting arrangements on there but they let you post when your having a yard sale and address and all... to me thats the same thing, right?

i was on this site for a couple of weeks and just because she said i did something wrong wish needless to say wasnt sure she kicked me off and blocked me and shes on a powertrip with this site alot of my friends have been removed and blocked as well something needs to be done by Facebook about her shes something else oh my she sent me the nastiest e mail ever i dont want nothing to ever do with her or the site. it needs to be shut down.and by the way she blocked my husband as well she says so he couldnt sell and buy items for me what a crock my husband is hardly ever on facebook so i dont understand what the deal is

LOL....Just exactly the reason I never have and never will use Facebook. Sooner or later all such social network sites turn out to be nothing but drama. Facebook will be history in a few more years.

Brick Layer I find it hilarious that you say you have never been on Facebook because it is full of drama, if you have never been on Facebook how do you know it is full of drama? You spend an awful lot of time on this site stirring up drama to not like it, just saying!!

People getting into a fit about the facebook group would seem to be just as bad as an alleged 'power trip' by an admin, wouldn't it?

I've been selling in this group for quite some time now and have made a good amount of spare change clearing out the junk in my basement. Had it not been for the ease of posting things on the group (and yes, following the rules) I'd still have a basement full of junk and a few unpaid bills.

You've got a handful of testimonials here of people who are disgruntled at the group. What about the other 9000+ member who are perfectly happy, or at least understanding enough to not spend the time writing articles like this? The rules may seem silly, but they do ultimately have a positive impact on the group as a whole. If they step on your toes, then don't bother with the group! There are plenty of others to join. But if you're like me, then this group is the place to be!!

If the admins let everyone post whatever they wanted and did not say a word about anything...the group would not work. NO ONE would join if the group did not have some sort of rules, because drama like this would occur either way; with or without rules.
People posting things like this just want to start the drama and have nothing better to do than complain. If you do not agree on anything in the group, then GET OUT! Simple as that, that way you do not have to see this so called "drama".

The reason why people do not follow the rules, is because they do no read them.
The rules are there to make everything run smoother and make people happy.
But, the people that are unhappy with the rules should just leave then. Go have your own garage sale out of your garage then.

I am an admin in several other groups and Lisa does a fine job at what she does.
These garage sale groups are not to feel like your "in control" .
If all these groups were shut down right now, you people would STILL complain!
Never ending, people will never be happy at all. Pretty sad.

I have since removed my admin status. And to be fair I always tried to treat everyone fair. I do not agree with the grey areas. If a rule is defined it should be followed. Not selectively ignored for friends. It's not fair to everyone.

I have heard many people have left the site because Lisa had become overbearing. I think if people are being banned, they need to be notified and given a reason. The only problem I have with the site is that since there are so many people, it is very hard to sell anything. You post an item and you can't find it 5 minutes later. So naturally, you "bump" it, which gives you a scolding for bumping too much. However, even if you bump every minute, your item will still be sent down the line because of the vast number of people on the site.

Also, I don't know why the comment from Kayla'don was included since she was talking about the baby items site. However, she did blatantly state that she was not showing up for meetings, which I know gets you banned on EVERY selling site that I have frequented.
