A gas leak was reported today that closed off Chestnut from 10th street to 11th. The leak then ignited causing the home to be scorched.

In the above photo you can see Vectren workers working to repair the leak the homeowner busted with a gas powere auger (hole digger). The homeowner, Harold Lockhart, and his friend were placing fence posts when the auger struck the pipe. It is reported flames shot up 15-20 feet melting the new siding off the home.
