Columbuzz is open to everyone - It might make you angry, sad, happy, but everyone can post!

Columbuzz seems to be focus of some because of the freedom we allow others to share.

Columbuzz's Motto "Expression for Everyone" Think it, Say it, Read it, Share It...

The idea, allow those who believe they aren't heard with other media, police outlets to be heard on Columbuzz while remaining anonymous.

The downside to being hidden, some think, no accountability for what was said. Others, it protects their families, jobs, livelihood from attack, or persecution from their peers and friends. A name doesn't say it any differently... the info is still out, but Columbuzz keeping your info private is important.

We receive things through email, text message, and Facebook, ALL THE TIME and one of the most ask questions is... Will you keep my name out of it? The answer is yes we will. We don't believe in revealing those who provide us information.

Are we required to "police" the submissions sent in? NO! I don't think so. Most often we find that the information we get is correct to a point and those who claim it is false don't actually know or assume it can't be true.

It's "Half-Truths" at best, but "Gossip" all the way... Who cares? Those affected do, because no one wants their secrets or things they do posted all over the internet.

We recently posted information about the: The girl attacked on Prom night, the race track in North Vernon, the drivers who race at the track, and about the nurse that passed at work.

I want to address some things on these articles...

1. The prom attack - the source was a good one, directly connected to the victim. Those who claimed the info was a lie, well, they weren't there and really don't know other than what someone else told them. The fact is, it happened, it shouldn't have.

We never mentioned the names of the attackers unlike the commenters on Facebook did, but that didn't stop anyone from slamming us for allowing the info to be posted.

2. The story about the racers at the Twin Cities track in North Vernon wasn't written by anyone on staff at Columbuzz, but was submitted throughout submission page set-up to allow anyone to post on the website directly. That didn't stop the families who were mentioned in the article to immediately attack Columbuzz for the posting. We don't know those involved, how they race, when they race, etc...

Here is one statement from those connected... "You must be biggest pussy ever hiding behind computer and phone i gave my name whats yours crackhead" - name calling seems to be a big thing for those who have either a drinking problem, are young, or who think cursing and name calling will influence Columbuzz to be "scared" or worried about what is posted.

We've also been threatened with "legal" issues because of the racers story... I love it when that threat is played.

We have offered many opportunities for anyone to post a reply. Instead they took to Facebook, calling who they think wrote the story, and made threats of violence. Again those who think violence is the answer must like to drink, and smoke. I haven't noticed many who like to fight that don't drink.

We've been called every name in the book. Why? What does it solve?... Nothing. But it shows the intelligence of those thinking it is a solution, so nothing.

I would like to mention one other threat... "This will end ur site on Facebook".

They actually think they can end us on Facebook because of the post about their family who race at the track and had been accused of cheating.

They also said... "When someone gets hurt on the track cause of ur post" - this again falls back onto the idea that grown men are looking to fight instead of making better decision and then blaming it on a story on the internet that caused them to physically fight someone, the whole time while engaging in a fight, screaming this wouldn't have happened if Columbuzz never posted that story. - LOL

3. The nurse that died... this is a sad tragedy and it is never good when someone loses their life for any reason. We didn't write these articles either but did received the information from those who were involved, or connected or indirectly connected.

Should Columbuzz have posted the info? Sure. We can't be biased just because of the story subject...

In reality, it is nearly impossible to be unbiased, as every human being operates under a worldview that affects all areas of his/her life, but I try to be un-biased for a reason on Columbuzz.

I don't think the story is even about the nurse who passed, but about the retirement home she worked for. Those who claim things are lies can never or don't ever submit anything to prove their opinion accurate.

Should someone prove a statement is a lie? I don't know but if you know it is a lie, why not correct the information so people get the truth?

We don't just get one tip about anything, once something is posted; it helps others release additional information, confirming the information.

People, in my opinion, who threaten think it will scare us to pull the articles. It doesn't. If a legal threat is mentioned, we don't think anything about that either.

The sad reality is this; we never receive anyone's request for the articles to be removed.

When an article is posted on Columbuzz, just because it is appears on Columbus Man's facebook page doesn't mean it was written by Columbus Man. Articles are indexed on several profiles on Facebook.

If you have something to say, have a story to post, send it to us... email - submit @columbuzz.net, Columbuzz >links>Submit story, text message 81205069821, 8123908015, or through our question system AskUS

We are not a "news" site in the sense of the word "news". We do report the news that occurred around Columbus and we also allow other things to be posted. We are not paid, this is a blog site, we try hard to report accurate info, but sometimes it is questioned.

Sadly, if you don't like Columbuzz, or the fact that names aren't used, or because it is considered a "Gossip" site, the spelling or grammar is not up to journalism standards, then you may be in the wrong place.

Columbuzz couldn't be what it is without the support of the community, through tips, messages, etc...

We sincerely appreciate your continued visits and support.

Do as you have and ignore the critics

A critic is a man who knows the way but can't get there by themself.

Lies don't have to be proven to be lies, it's the claimed truth, that should be proven as fact.
Your reasoning is really backwards.
You also have claimed (many times) that you are attacked for things on this site that were posted by someone else.
The one(s) who controls this site is responsible for it's content.
If anything is posted here, it's only because the admin(s) allowed it, hence the responsibility.
And I have to say that Paula is dead-on about proofreading and editing.
The above story is chocked FULL of grammatical errors, punctuation errors, spelling errors, and downright uneducated type sentence structure, as well as manner of speech.
If you want this site to be taken seriously, I suggest you recruit someone, with at least a high-school education, to write, and edit for this site.
Until then, this community will just see this site as an amateur's attempt to mouth off, mostly about meaningless things such as dirty laundry at local dirt track racing events, and people improperly parked.
If you really aspire to be heard, in the journalistic sense, do your homework and learn the profession, for God's sake!
BTW, I don't come here for news, or facts.

If you don't post this, will you please just read it aloud to yourself and think about it?

There are groups locally attempting to start cricket and lacrosse here in Columbus. But according to Parks and Rec, ALL the playing fields in our parks are booked solid. We have NO room for growth of amateur sports, which is what fueled the plans for a new sports complex downtown. The plans our new Mayor and Council just cancelled because Mayor Harvard says amateur sports like softball “add nothing to Columbus.” In fact, Kristen appears to hate softball so much, she was prepared to pay EXTRA (of your tax dollars, of course) just to turn back the financing.

But at a recent public appearance, our new Mayor disclosed what she DOES want to bring to our fair city – she wants to turn the Crump into an Opera House.

Mayor Kristen Brown: NO to needed sports fields for our families, YES to a new opera house for her and her other wealthy Carmel-wannabe friends. Certainly a different vision for Columbus.

Couldn't get logged in again lol. Anyway I think it is getting really old that people complain that their rights are being withheld but then you get a place like this that let's you say anything and everything, (minus one person that isn't here anymore) yet people are still complaining! The stories can be debated, if they are not 100% accurate send a note in responding ...comment...give your proof against or for the story. Other than that...why such a big deal? It is every individual's constitutional right to say and think what they want. Nothing more needs to be said really. This site may have gossip, it may have conflict or even some one sided stories but that is NOT the way the admins make it. People write a story and they submit it. Admins post it and then it is up to anyone who has any proof for or against the information to post their side as well. If you choose not to..well that is your right...but do not blame the site for it. If you don't have proof for or against it feel free to post your thoughts or opinions but if you weren't there, didn't see or hear it..then you are gossiping and doing the very thing you condemn the site for doing .

Correcting Brick Layer’s misinformation is becoming so time consuming, that I begin to suspect that BL is the new pseudonym for Phil Swaim.

No, Melissa, you have been misinformed. No one “backed out” of the Sports Complex prior to that awful city election. After the election, but before Mayor Oracle took office, BCSC withdrew its support. This only means that the folks in charge of teaching our kids are quite capable of reading the handwriting on the wall.

Bull Layer’s comment about the “toxic flood plain” is interesting, though, since his favorite Mayor’s stance on the cleanup was so idiotic.

The city owned the property and could not do anything – not a Sports Complex nor the Bob Freeman Memorial Clinic for the Treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Behaviors – due to the creosote left on the property. The State offered to loan us the money AT NO INTEREST to clean the property up and make it usable again. Then Mayor-elect Brown, MBA (Harvard)’s position? Stuck in opposition mode. Moronic.
