Zwanzigz® upgrades to full service with a few new amenities

image

You may have noticed the ® after their name, Zwanzigz® is now a registered trademark and should be used in accordance of all laws governing registered trademarks.

Zwanzigz® pizza at 11th and Lafayette has opened up their building, more seating, a full service bar, new ovens, more room to breath and after all this it even includes their own mico-brewery.

Such a great improvement for this one of a kind eatery and we're lucky to have them in Columbus Indiana. One of the biggest favorites for many is their pizza and newest favorites is their specialty lagers, and flavours* of carbonated sodas.

We're not going to get into the lagers and sodas, but when the Root Beer soda is ready I would almost bet it will be number one in the State. I hope to see them at the OctoberFest in Seymour this year, not that is in the plans but just a dream I have. They would in my opinion take home a large profit from the festival.

(Read a local bloggers take on 7 of the lagers served at Zwanzigz®)

Some of the newest amenities you may or may not know about;

First is the full service bar - open during the day you can walk in and sit at the bar and order your food instead of waiting in the incredible long lines.

You get your food served on a plate, and your beverage served in a glass, not any Styrofoam at the bar. While at the bar you can also sample (2oz) drinks** - we're told it takes about 10 minutes for 2oz of alcohol to leave your system so you can drink during the day. (**You can also get this at your table in the lobby)

The second amenity is the special table you may not know existed, yes a table that is almost always open and never used unless you're aware of its existence.

This table is also a full service table, with a view over looking the oven and prep area taking you back to your childhood days of watching the pizza being made. You're secluded away from others so you could have a small 4 party meeting if you needed privacy... excluding the small echo.

While you won't see them tossing the pizza in the air like the traditional pizza makers, you still have the aroma of quality pizza being made. The aroma excites your tastebuds making the anticipation of wait even longer, but once it arrives... it's magˈnifəsənt!

If you're at the special table just above your head is a late 19th century early 20th century hanging bat lamp. The bat lamp measures 53 centimeters (21 inches) wing-tip to wing-tip, and 56 centimeters (22 inches) from top to bottom. When the light is on, it is suppose to cast a large winged shadow on the ceiling.

The lamp is a fixture (we're told) from the owners grandmothers basement and I believe it could be from a German manufacturer Franz Stubgen, a specialist in metal items including lamps. His company logo is a Fledermaus (German for bat) and was registered 1892.

The third amenity is the ovens, all new ovens cooking the pizza and bread-sticks with an even and consistent flow of heat. Making the pizza even more tasty today than when the old ovens were used.

If you haven't visited Zwanzigz® head on down for lunch, I think they start serving at 11am.

*We like Flavours instead of Flavors.

Going to be doing some reviews on just how accessible and accommodating all these places in town are to people in wheelchairs.
This will include amount of van parking, sidewalk and pavement condition, entrance door, removal of chairs, table access, server and management attidudes.
