The couple were on their way to Madison, but officials don't know where they were coming from.

We received a tip last night about the plane crash, but we failed to see the tip until this morning. - Thank you!

It happened just after 9pm last night when a couple died when their single-engine Cessna 177 went down into a wooded area. The identities haven't been release but we know it was a man and a woman.

The North Vernon/Center Township Fire Chief said the plane crash happened near the Jennings/Jefferson County line in Indiana. Area residents say the crash is on Zion Lake Road in Dupont, which is 10 miles North Madison.

The FAA were contacted, and should be on scene last night or today.
